Royal Victoria Park. Case Study.

Shopping centres can be confusing places, with multiple levels, stores and amenities. Clear signage and easily accessible guidance are vital in ensuring a positive shopping experience for the user, which is why we are so proud of our work in Royal Victoria Park, Kent with Merson Digital

As part of the shopping centres re generation we have developed a touch screen information system on sixteen screens which will be located throughout the centre. These screens will sit within totems developed by our partners Merson Digital ensuring they are both visually appealing and immediately obvious for users.

The project work was divided between the two businesses. The tech, 32 inch displays and the software behind it, were supplied by ADT while Merson Digital was able to deliver on the design and integration for the project.

For us, key to this installation were a few points:

Engaging – we want to make sure people are drawn to and want to use the totems in the way they are intended. By designing and controlling the software we can offer visually engaging options which will encourage the user in

Highly reactive – there is nothing more frustrating than an interactive tool which is hard to use, we wanted to ensure that anyone, without previous knowledge of the system, could navigate the touch screens without issue

Durability – with thousands of people passing through shopping centres daily these screens are likely to have a lot of use so reliability and durability are key. The system we have developed we are confident will last a minimum of 5 years, and probably a lot longer
